The cuisine found in El Salvador is unique to this particular country due to the blending of both Indigenous and Spanish influences. Although some of our American fast food franchises are popping up in the larger cities,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], there is an abundance of street carts and open air markets where cheap,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], local, and delicious food can be found. A surprising fact is that while our fast food restaurants are becoming more frequent there,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], restaurants with food from El Salvador are becoming regular here as well. Some of the traditional Salvadoran meals include Pupusas(seen in the picture to the right) ,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], Empanadas(also found in Argentina and many other countries),[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], Tamales (also found in traditional Mexican cuisine),[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and Sopa de Pata. Another influential factor on the food found in this country is it's coastal line,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], which causes seafood to be a common ingredient in many foods. In contrast to a typical American breakfast many Salvadorans enjoy a plate of eggs and vegetables,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], fruit,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], such as fried plantains,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and fresh cheese,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], along with beans and tortillas. In El Salvador there is quite a selection of beverages,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], including one referred to as ensalada (seen in the picture to the left), typically meaning salad in Spanish. This drink is a mixture of chopped fresh fruit along a sweet fruit juice,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], amounting to basically a fruit salad in a cup.
