Radical Islam is world greatest threat
London,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], Sept 4: Former British Prime Minister Tony Blair has warned that radical Islam is the greatest threat that the world is facing at this present time.
According to him,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], radical Islamists believe that whatever is done in the name of their cause,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], including the use of chemical,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], biological or nuclear weapons,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], is justified.
"After 11 Sep,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], rightly or wrongly,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], I felt the calculus of risk had changed. There is the most enormous threat from the combination of this radical extreme movement and the fact that,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], if they could,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], they would use nuclear, chemical or biological weapons. You can't take a risk with that happening,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]," The BBC quoted Blair,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], as saying.
Blair,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], who led Britain into war in Afghanistan and Iraq,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], denied that his own policies had fuelled radicalism.
Talking about Chechens, Kashmiris, Palestinians,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], Iraqis and Afghans,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], who resisted foreign occupation,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], he said Western polices were designed to confront radical Islamists because they were "regressive,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], wicked and backward-looking".
The former Prime Minister,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], who is now an international envoy to the Middle East for the international Quartet, also called Iran one of the biggest state sponsors of radical Islam,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and needs to be prevented by any means from developing a nuclear weapon.
"We need to give a message to Iran that is very clear - that they cannot have nuclear weapons capability, and we will stop them,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]," he added..
