John Frazer
Kinnadoohy, Killadoon, Louisburgh
The death took place peacefully at his home on August 23, 2010, of Mr John Frazer, Kinnadoohy, Killadoon, Louisburgh. A much-revered senior resident of the community, he was better known as 'John Austin'.
John was son of the late Austin and Annie Frazer and was in his early 80s. He was born in the townland of Kinnadoohy and had the distinction of being the first baby born in County Mayo on January 1, 1929.
Truly one of the grand old stock of the area, John was a very popular figure in the local community and he enjoyed the affection and respect of all who knew him. He was educated in the local national school in Killadoon. At an early age, and like many of his generation,Woolrich Arctic Parka Woolrich Online Shop Woolrich Damen Parka Woolrich Deutschland Outlet, John emigrated to England to find work. It was there he met the love of his life, Julia, who was to become his wife and his loyal rock of support for the rest of his life.
John and Julia married on St Patrick's Day, March 17, 1962, in England. They lived there for a short while afterwards, but, although John was in gainful employment, the 'call of the wild' prompted him to return home to live on the family farm at Kinnadoohy with his beloved Julia.
In subsequent years John applied himself with great husbandry to the development of his own farm but he was never too busy to give a helping hand to his neighbours and friends. Indeed, there was no better neighbour to be found throughout the community.
His love of the land was ingrained and deep and he always had his own garden of vegetables and potatoes, all sown by hand with the aid of a well-edged spade. His love of animals was evident in the fine stock he turned out for the local mart each year.
John was a man who kept himself fit. He was a keen cyclist and often left the local young lads for dust after being challenged to a cycle race on the country roads around his home, cheap soccer cleats online store.
An early riser, he could be seen walking the White Strand at any hour, often returning home with a good rope or a piece of net salvaged from the sea. He would consider that 'a job well done'.
To him his townland area of Kinnadoohy was a paradise and its beauty was evident to all who called to the family home during his repose there,http://discountparajumperssaleonlinestore.webmium.com/.
Turf-cutting was a big part of John's life but to him it was more like a hobby than work, cheap soccer cleats store. He had no problem throwing up seven or eight loads with the sléan and building them into a lovely neat stack at the end of the summer, giuseppe zanotti Designer Wedding Shoes Online.
John always enjoyed family celebrations and social gatherings, missing very few Sunday nights in hostelries in Killadoon or Louisburgh where he loved the music, dance or chat. Nothing gave him greater pleasure than to hear his dear wife Julia singing her native county song 'The Green Glens of Antrim' and many more of his own musical favourites.
John was very contented with his life which he lived to the full every day,Doudoune Duvetica Femme. He was a devoted husband and father who always put the needs of his family first. It was fitting that he slipped peacefully from this world without an ache or a pain in the comfort of his own home.
The warmth and respect which John enjoyed in the wider Louisburgh community was very much reflected in the large numbers of people who called to the family home and the Church of the Holy Family, Killeen, to pay their respects to him and express sympathy to his wife and family on their sad loss. Many of them had their own special memories of a jolly, witty and genial man who had touched their lives and the lives of so many others.
Following the traditional wake at the family home removal was from his residence on Wednesday,http://parajumpersoutletsverige.albirank.net/, August 25, to the Church of the Holy Family, Killeen, where he was received by Fr Mattie Long,http://peutereyjacket.webmium.com/, PP and Fr Francis McMyler. John's Funeral Mass on Thursday, August 26, was celebrated by Fr Mattie Long assisted by Fr Leo Morahan. Large crowds attended the funeral ceremonies on both days.
The lessons at the Mass were read by John's daughter Ann and grandson Michael John, with the Prayers of the Faithful read by John (Jnr), Pauline, James Martin and Shauna. Gifts, symbolic of John's life and the bread and wine were brought to the altar by members of his family, duvetica vestes paris, Alice,http://giuseppezanottiweddingshoes.webmium.com/, Tina, Dylan, Nora, Mary Jo and Alison. His grandniece Shauna read the narration describing the gifts and their meaning.
In the Mass homily Fr Mattie Long paid generous tribute to John for the wonderful Christian life he had lived, for his devotion to his wife and family, his faith and his community.
In a poignant tribute at the end of Mass entitled 'Special Memories of Our Father' John's son James recalled many of the characteristics of his life. He paid tribute to him for his loyalty to his family and to his great spirit of helpfulness. He was a man of many skills and he was always more than willing to use these for the good of others,http://parajumpersparkamen.webmium.com/. James also paid tribute to his dad for being a good neighbour and a friend to many. He referred to his great faith which he practiced in a very meaningful way in his daily life and which was a great inspiration to others.
John will be greatly missed by his loving wife, Julia; sons, James and John (Jnr); daughters, Rosemary, Nora,http://duveticavestesfr.halod.com/, Ann, Tina and Alice; sisters, Bridgie Wright (Norwich, UK),http://2013rogerviviershoessales.blogspot.com/, Criss (Kinnadoohy), Catherine (USA); brothers-in-law, John Wright (Norwich) and Jack Mc Millan (Antrim); sisters-in-law,http://duveticashoponline.blogspot.com/, Lilian, roger vivier australia store, Alice, Sylvia and May (Antrim); six grandchildren; great-granddaughter, Evie; sons-in-law, Mike and Gerry; daughter-in-law, Allison; nieces and nephews; relatives, neighbours and many friends. He was predeceased by his brother James and sisters Mollie Baynes and Nora Askin. John was very proud of the fact that he knew six generations of his family in his own lifetime.
At the request of his family soloist Catherine McLeod played 'Never Fill My Father's Shoes' and Séamus Heneghan played John's old favourites on the accordion as his remains were carried shoulder high to his resting place in Killeen Cemetery.
