He was 65.The New York native estimated he appeared in 300 to 400 adult films before retiring from the adult entertainment industry and becoming a real-estate agent in the 1990s, THR said.He published his memoir, "Here Comes Harry Reems," in 1975, and was featured in the 2005 documentary, "Inside Deep Throat."JAMES HERBERT: Best-selling horror novelist James Herbert died at his home in England Wednesday, his publisher said. He was 69.Pan Macmillan did not provide a cause of death, The Daily Telegraph reported. His home is in Sussex County.Among his 23 books, Herbert was best known for "The Rats" (1974) and "The Fog" (1975).His books have been published in more than 34 languages, with more than 54 million copies sold worldwide. "It's a true testament to Jim Herbert's writing and his enduring creativity that his books continued to be huge bestsellers right up until his death," his editor, Jeremy Trevathan, said. "He has the rare distinction that his novels were considered classics of the genre within his lifetime. His death marks the passing of one of the giants of popular fiction in the 20th century." He is survived by his wife, Eileen, and their three daughters.USHER: Jeffrey Simon Hubbard has pleaded not guilty to homicide by vessel for the death of singer Usher's former stepson, officials in Georgia said.Hubbard also pleaded not guilty before Superior Court Judge Bonnie Oliver in Hall County Tuesday to charges of reckless operation of a vessel, unlawful operation of a personal watercraft, boat traffic violation and serious injury by vessel, the Gainesville [Ga.] Times reported.Hubbard was a family friend on vacation with the victim's family July 6, 2012 when the personal watercraft he was driving on Lake Lanier crashed into an inner tube carrying Kile Glover and Jordan Shepp.Kile was the 11-year-old son of Usher's ex-wife, Tameka Raymond, and Ryan Glover, a Bounce TV executive. The child suffered severe brain injuries in the incident and never regained consciousness after he was hospitalized. He died July 21.Shepp injured her left arm and her scalp was "seriously disfigured," the Times reported the indictment said.BOBBY BROWN: Rhythm and blues singer Bobby Brown began a jail sentence in Los Angeles Wednesday for driving under the influence and other infractions.Brown, 44, made an appearance in Los Angeles County Court before being taken to the lockup, the Los Angeles Times reported.The singer pleaded no contest in February to charges he was driving drunk with a suspended license when arrested last October.Already on probation, Brown was given 10 days for drunken driving, 10 days on the license count and 35 days for violating his probation.But the Times said sheriff's spokesman Steve Whitmore said because of jail overcrowding and other factors such as good behavior, Brown likely will serve no more than nine days.Once he's out, he'll be on probation for four years and will be under court order to attend three AA meetings a week and go through an 18-month alcohol-treatment program, the newspaper said.He also will be required to have an alcohol interlock device installed on his car. TMZ reported it is Brown's third driving DUI conviction. Brown, who has a history of substance abuse, was the ex-husband of the late pop star Whitney Houston, who drowned in a hotel bathtub in February 2012 after drinking and using drugs.
