A 17-year-old Jersey City boy charged with stealing a pair of $400 sneakers at gunpoint faces up to 20 years in prison if convicted after having been transferred to criminal court yesterday,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], officials said.

Law is charged with pointing a handgun at the victim during a robbery at the Ninth Street Light Rail Station in Hoboken on Jan. 26,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], the criminal complaint says. He is charged with robbing the victim of a pair of Chicago 10 sneakers valued at $400.
NJ Transit police said at the time that the victim was trying to sell the sneakers,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], but two people who posed as buyers stole them. Penalties in Criminal Court are far more severe than those in Family Court.
