Breastfeeding support and help
First time soon-to-be-mom here and I'm seriously confused,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]. Are you or are you not supposed to wear a nursing bra with the tank,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]? It wasn't very flattering without a bra because my nips were visible through the shirt. What I do to try to be a little more discreet is unhook it from under the neck of my shirt then pull the flap down on the bra from under my shirt. Then I lift up my shirt some and put baby up to my breast. I usually use a light blanket in public because it makes me more comfortable.
The nursing shirts are supposed to help you be more discreet in public since you just lift the flap up and don't have to pull the bottom of your shirt up,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]. I haven't had much luck in finding nursing shirts that are comfortable for me since the places here only have the kind that have the elastic all around it,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych].
I agree with the nursing tank. If you want to use it as an under shirt it works pretty good without the bra as long as it offers enough support. I always wanted to get a nursing shirt for traveling by plane,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], but it all just got too complicated. I think that a nursing shawl is nicer than the whole nursing shirt thing for me. I wonder if it's because my breasts are on the larger side and I'm awkward.
(Edited to fix spelling errors)
^^^ I love the under cover mama shirts,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]! They hook so nicely to nursing bras and allow me to lift up my shirt and nurse with my tummy covered,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]. Sometimes zulily has them for less. I just watch for a sale.
Everyone pretty much answered your questions. I like the cheap nursing tanks at night. I wear them with pj pants as my tops. They're more comfortable for me than a nighttime nursing bra and convinent too. The glamor mom nursing tanks are nice too,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], but I like the bravado ones better. If I was going to shell out the money for a nice tank,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], I'd definatley go for the bravado tanks. I wear tanks or an undercover mama shirt under any shirt I'm going to be lifting to nurse. I don't like my belly after baby so I like the coverage a tank provides when nursing when anyone beyond the dog is around.
I second the Bravado tanks. I have several and I love them, especially for night feedings. As for the nursing bras,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], I do the same as a PP. I unhook the bra from the neckline of my shirt,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], reach up under and pull the flap of the bra down,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and only lift my shirt enough for baby to feed. In public places,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], I usually use a nursing cover though so I don't have any "costume malfunctions." Wink The best nursing cover out there is the Hooter Hider. I love it because it has a stiff neckline that props against your upper chest so that you can look down and see what you're doing. If you use a cover,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], you can unhook yourself and latch baby on however you want and no one else can see. It's also good for hiding your post-baby tummy.
Nursing bras are for easy access, not cover up. If you have any concerns about your own health or the health of your child,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], you should always consult with a physician or other healthcare professional.
