If the Kentucky football program decides to follow in the footsteps of the men basketball team,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], it would be a rather wise decision.
It looks as if the 2009-2010 UK football team could be suiting up in all new,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], stylish black jerseys,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], much like what the basketball team did. The University of Kentucky decided to honor beloved team manager Bill Keightley that year,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], who had recently passed away during March of 2008.
From what I experienced in going to basketball games and reading various articles,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], much of the Big Blue Nation enjoyed watching their team play for an uplifting cause. The black jerseys symbolized a loss from the program,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], a team manager and overseer of young players lives. For years,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], he provided insight and knowledge to the best of his ability and loved life to the fullest.
The new black jerseys for the UK football team may not symbolize a loss to the program,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], but does represent an innovative way to symbolize a new beginning. Ever since Rich Brooks took over the head coaching duties at UK,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], things have been constantly looking up. The black jerseys can symbolize a statement,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], a new era of success for football at Kentucky and a look into the future.
I personally think that if the new black football jerseys are used,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], it would once again be a success. If they are used,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], the team should wear the jerseys for one of the premier games of the season (Florida at home? Tennessee?).
Just like many things,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], we have to wait and see what happens. I really hope athletic director Mitch Barnhart and college president Lee Todd go through with this decision,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], so UK fans get to see some innovation and fun.
