Most sage advice for buying an upgraded spoke,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]
one by having an older 26 x 1 3/8 wheel high is not likely to become a standard size within the 'DT Swiss' range,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]?
Does anyone have recommendations on how to accurately obtain the length right? I imagine this is not going to be an immediate job within an LBS,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], does anyone do that mail order (particularly in the UK)?
I'm not sure if most bike shops have it,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], but I know a minumum of one of my LBSs includes a device that cuts a spoke and puts a thread on it at the same time. They routinely cut (and thread) spokes to length. From speaking with among their employees,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], I suppose it had been a much better deal on their behalf than attempting to stock a lot of different length spokes.
Rims may well be a few fairly standard sizes,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], but there's a lot of variety in hub flange diameter. Spoke lacing pattern also affects the appropriate lengths. Quite simply,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], even your unusual size may be something they previously stock. Or if they have something that's only a millimeter or two too long,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], it's probably possible to chop it without putting thread onto it and still have a good spoke.
